The IT Lab: Summer Security Intensive (SSI) is a fully funded, seven-week cybersecurity program designed for students interested in IT, data analytics, and cybersecurity. The program combines graduate-level coursework, hands-on projects, and professional mentorship, giving participants the experience of a cybersecurity internship.
Participants will:
Take three specialized courses in security analytics and policy (credits transferable to undergraduate institutions)
Apply knowledge in real-world group projects addressing actual business or operational needs for partner organizations
Study with leading security and analytics researchers, including Carnegie Mellon’s CERT division of the Software Engineering Institute
Attend Lunch-and-Learn sessions with industry professionals, including CISOs and cybersecurity leaders
Rachel Kang, alumna, now at OpenAI, credits IT Lab with launching her cybersecurity career in intrusion protection, detection systems, and insider threat projects.
Full financial support: Covers housing, tuition, books, supplies, social functions, and travel within the U.S.
