Overview

Georgia Tech offers a wide range of federal, state, and institutional financial aid to help make college more affordable for incoming first-year students. All admitted students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible to maximize aid opportunities.

By submitting the required applications, students are automatically considered for all eligible need-based aid. Financial aid applications must be resubmitted every year.

  • Incoming Fall 2026 first-year students

  • Students seeking:

    • Federal financial aid

    • Georgia state aid (HOPE/Zell Miller)

    • Georgia Tech institutional scholarships

  • Students receiving outside/private scholarships (GT App required for fund disbursement)


Required Applications

1. Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships & Financial Aid (GT App)

  • Required for all students seeking any form of aid

  • Must be completed even if receiving outside/private scholarships

  • Accessed via OSCAR

2. CSS Profile (Institutional Aid Only)

Required ONLY if:

  • You are an incoming first-year student

  • You want to be considered for Georgia Tech institutional need-based aid

Not required if applying for:

  • Federal aid only

  • HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship only

  • No institutional aid

CSS Profile Deadlines:

  • Fall First-Year Students: January 31, 2026

  • Transfer Students ONLY: March 31, 2026

3. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Required for:

  • Federal financial aid

  • State and institutional aid with a financial need component

Important:
Students and parents/guardians should create an FSA ID early at studentaid.gov.


4. Georgia Student Financial Aid Application (GSFAPPS)

ONLY for Georgia residents applying for:

  • HOPE Scholarship

  • Zell Miller Scholarship

Notes:

  • FAFSA not required if applying ONLY for HOPE/Zell Miller

  • GT App is still required

  • Summer 2026 is part of the 2025–26 academic year

  • Fall applications do not cover summer aid

  • Students admitted for Summer Term must:

    • Complete separate Summer First-Year Aid applications

    • Submit any additional requested documentation
